influence of drugs. the driver of the tractor-trailer involved in the bay bridge wreck that sent a woman and her car plummeting into the water below last month was on his first trip in the u.s. alone. the national transportation safety board said he works for a canadian carrier. the driver hit morgan links car and another vehicle pushing her over the wall. morgan was able to get out and was rescued. 19-year-old seth beckman was shot and killed. beckman stormed into several businesses, including a snow bam stand before being confronted by a sheriff's deputy and the deputy is the him. beckman's father believes that his son was high on synthetic

in front of the high school. wyatt will have the detailed forecast coming up on abc2 in a couple of moments. man, silver spring couples tipped off when they went to see the new movie the butler. they say security was beefed up. >> the couple said the audience seeing the movie was primarily african-american which they suspect had something to do with the extra police. many vented their frustration on twit ear date night for this silver spring couple, saturday night 8 p.m. showing of the butler but they said it was the security who caught them off guard. plain clothes police officers both inside and outside the theater. >> they had what i thought were bulletproof vests, side arms, a badge sewn into their shirt.

virginia, eastern north carolina down no hatteras. that has subsided. all south of the stationary frontal boundary. whenever the boundary is stalled, it keeps the cloud cover around. the biggest thing is it keeps temperatures down, down below seasonal normals, down below record lows. one of those way cooler than average weather. it should bring back some sunshine. take a look at the setup here. rainfall wise it looks pretty limited. tomorrow a stray shower, an isolated shower maybe in southern maryland but it looks dry into the day on wednesday as well. more sun breaking through the clouds, we thips and the more significant rain chance holding off until late day thursday as we reach peak heat. no big storms to tell you about in the tropics, quiet here as well. and we have quite a large area of convection here but no real

>> good evening on monday night. as we come on the air it is man versus nature and there is a map that se it all, a giant wildfire spreading through idaho and watch it grow over this weekend. bearing down now on sun valley and the vacation homes, the giant mansions of the rich and famous there. veteran firefighters are calling this fire a beast and abc's aditi roy is right there with them. >> reporter: the beaver creek wildfire burns deep in the hills near sun valley idaho and 1200 crews attacking the flames and smoke from above and below. firefighters are work is against hot, dry weather and wind gusts turning the fire into

tornado-li tornado-like spirals. they are putting in a sprinkler system to protect the homes but most work is done with hand tools. they're digging away trees and anything flammable to make sure flames don't burn beyond this point. it's slow and labor intentative work. close to 10,000 homes at risk, among them some of the most expensive homes in the country, multi-million dollar mansion. bruce williss vacation home is now less than a mile away from the zone. arnold schwarzenegger owns a multi-million dollar estate six miles from the fire line. private fire companies are hired by insurance companies. >> i understand why insurance companies sent us to protect these high value homes. i get that and i don't have any problem with it as long as they stay out of the way of our fire
